Satin is a smooth, glossy fabric, typically of silk, produced by a weave in which the threads of the warp are caught and looped by the weft only at certain intervals. Depending on the angle, this medium weight satin turns iridescent and shiny making it look glamorous for any project. This all purpose satin comes with a width of 58/60" and in various colors. This item is sold and shipped by yard(s) and roll(s).

Care Instructions for Satin Fabric

Washing Tips

  • Hand washing is recommended for best results, but if machine washing, use the delicate cycle with cold water.
  • If hand washing, add a mild detergent to cool water and let the fabric soak for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
  • Do not wring or twist the fabric, as this can cause creases and damage the fibers.
  • Turn satin inside out before washing to protect its smooth surface.

Drying Tips

  • Never use a dryer, as heat can damage the delicate fibers.

GREAT Price - poor color word choice

This was much less periwinkle and more blue. No hint of purple in the color at all. The price, however, was great and it did sew up beautifully the way I needed it to. If I would have had more time - I 'd have gotten a sample to validate it was periwinkle. But all's OK. I can use it still.
